The American racing team owner Michael Andretti (60) and the US car manufacturer General Motors want to start together in Formula 1 in the future. The partners said in a joint statement on Thursday that they would set up a new US team under the Cadillac group brand.
If the move is approved by the motorsport organization FIA, the new team should go into the United States be at home. There will be additional locations in Great Britain. “The Andretti-Cadillac team will express its interest should the FIA open a formal process,” it said. They then want to start “as soon as practically possible” with at least one American driver.
The next big car manufacturer is thus pushing into the largest racing series in the world, which is currently taking place despite the climate debate made a miraculous comeback
