The automotive industry is in the midst of profound structural change. It causes some movement in the car market. The flood of new models from China, which are not always sold by Chinese brands, is particularly exciting. The sporty Fiat offshoot is expanding its range in 2023 with a souped-up version of the new Fiat 500e. The first Stromer from Abarth delivers 113 kW/155 hp and sprints to 100 km/h in 7 seconds. The manufacturer specifies the range as 250 kilometers. market launch? Still uncertain. Price? Probably around 40,000 euros. The Chinese manufacturer Aiways could soon establish itself on the German car market, because with the U6 the E-SUV U5 is now getting a more eye-catching sister model. The 4.80 meter long crossover, which costs 47,600 euros, offers 160 kW/218 hp and a range of 400 kilometers.
At the beginning of the year, the technically related models Stelvio and Giulia received a facelift that brought new LED lighting technology, digital cockpit instruments and more connectivity. In addition, a sports car that will probably be produced in limited numbers is to be unveiled in the spring.

Audi
The E-Tron Quattro comes as the Q8 E-Tron with a modified look and a range that has been increased to up to 600 kilometers. A facelift of the conventionally powered Q8 will follow in the fall. At the end of the year, the A3 Allstreet, an SUV-style version of the A3, and the Q6 E-Tron, a new electric SUV coupe, will be available.

The 7 Series, newly introduced this year, will also compete as an electric performance version i7 M70 xDrive.

Citroen continues its electric offensive. The 4.60 meter long crossover model e-C4 X marks the start in spring. The four-door hatchback, which costs around 37,500 euros, is said to offer a range of 360 kilometers. The electric version of the new edition of the C3 expected for September, which will continue to be available with a combustion engine, is likely to go even further. The electric vans e-Berlingo and e-Space Tourer will receive a facelift at the end of 2023.

In the fall of 2023, Fiat will close the gap between the Tipo and the 500 that arose in 2018 with the discontinuation of the Punto with an electric car. The upcoming small car will be based on the e-platform of the group partner PSA and will therefore be technically related to the Opel Corsa-e or Peugeot e-208.
ford
Ford has relaunched its “little” pick-up Ranger. The entry-level version of the series, which will be available from spring, is the XL with a single cab and a two-liter diesel with 125 kW/170 hp (from around 40,200 euros). The most expensive variant is the 212 kW/288 hp Raptor for around 75,000 euros. The new generation of the Mustang with a classic V8 engine will follow in autumn. The Bronco, which will be available in late 2023 and has been available in the USA since 2021, will also be conventionally powered. In addition, Ford is planning two more electric innovations for next year with the e-Tourneo Custom and a crossover below the Mustang Mach-e.

Honda
At the beginning of 2023, Honda will be launching the new Civic Type R, which has been boosted to 242 kW/329 hp and can reach speeds of up to 275 km/h, at prices starting at 55,500 euros. Honda also wants to strengthen its position in Europe with three new SUV models in the near future. The compact ZR-V will come to Germany first in the summer. The hybrid is positioned between the mini crossover HR-V and the large SUV model CR-V, for which a successor is to come in the fall. The electric crossover e:Ny1 is planned as the third new model, which will appear in the B segment at the end of the year.
Hyundai
At the beginning of the year, Hyundai is launching the electric sedan Ioniq 6 with striking pixel lights and a coupé silhouette at prices starting at around 44,000 euros. A facelift for the Hyundai microcar i10 will follow in the spring. The new edition of the small car SUV Kona, which will also be available in an electric version as before, is due in summer. In the fall, facelifts for the i20, i30 and Tucson series are also announced. At the end of the year, the E-model Ioniq 5 will be available as a sporty N version with probably 430 kW/585 hp.

With the Ioniq 6, Hyundai is expanding its range of electric vehicles.

With the Avenger, the first real electric car from the off-road brand will be in the starting blocks at the beginning of 2023. First comes the Stromer, which is just over 4 meters short, as a front-wheel drive vehicle with an electric drive known from Peugeot and Opel with 115 kW/156 hp and a 54 kWh battery for a range of almost 400 kilometers. A four-wheel drive version 4xe is planned for the end of 2023. Prices should start at around 35,000 euros. With the Recon, Jeep will also bring an electric version of the off-road Wrangler at the end of 2023.
kia
With the EV9, Kia is expanding its electric range with a large SUV on a GMP platform. The approximately five meter long Koreans can accommodate up to seven occupants, the range should be around 540 kilometers. The 800 volt technology also allows fast charging.

Lamborghini
The Aventador super sports car, which has already been discontinued, will have an official successor in spring 2023. The flounder is powered by a newly developed V12 engine. Thanks to an additional electric drive, purely electric driving should also be possible.
Lexus
With the RZ 450e, Lexus will launch a second electric SUV in Germany at the beginning of 2023. The 4.81 meter long five-door is powered by two engines with 230 kW/313 hp. The range should be over 400 kilometers. The price will be around 65,000 euros.

Mazda
In the spring, the electric SUV MX-30 will be presented as a serial plug-in hybrid, in which a Wankel engine acts as a range extender. At the end of the year, the CX-80, a luxury SUV almost five meters long with seven seats and six-cylinder engines, will follow.

2023 will be an important year for new products for the traditional Italian brand. The MC-20 Cielo, i.e. the roadster version of the 463 kW/630 hp super sports car MC-20, will start in spring. The new edition of the four-seater coupé Granturismo will follow in the summer, followed a little later by its open-air offshoot Grancabrio. An e-SUV, the Grecale Folgore, will also follow at the end of the year.

Maserati Gran Turismo

In 2023 there will be a new edition of the Maserati GranTurismo.

Mercedes Benz
Introduced in 2022, the T-Class will become electric in early 2023. EQT is the name of the 49,000-euro high-roof station wagon with 90 kW/122 hp and a range of 280 kilometers. A Marco Polo version with a roof tent and kitchen unit is also planned for the end of 2023, which will probably cost over 65,000 euros. In May, the EQE SUV will be the second electric innovation, which will come with plenty of space, comfort, hyperscreen and plenty of power and range. In the summer, several series will be facelifted with the GLE, CLA, GLB, GLS and V-Class. The sixth generation of the E-Class, which will also be available as a station wagon with electrified four- and six-cylinder engines, will follow in autumn.

Mercedes EQE SUV

The EQ family from Mercedes is growing with the EQE SUV.

Mitsubishi
In March, Mitsubishi launches a new edition of the ASX, which is a rebranded Renault Captur. Like the Captur, the new ASX will be available as a mild, full and plug-in hybrid with up to 116 kW/158 hp. The prices should start at around 24,000 euros, similar to Renault.

At the beginning of 2023, three e-cars from the Chinese newcomer Nio will be available in Germany: the SUV EL7 and the sedans ET5 and ET7. The prices of the battery-electric premium models start at 50,000 euros for the ET5, the ET7 and EL7 cost 70,000 and 74,000 euros respectively excluding the battery, which can either be bought or rented.

Nissan
At the beginning of 2023, Nissan will also be offering its Townstar high-roof station wagon, which it launched in 2022, with an electric drive, which offers a range of just over 300 kilometers at a price of just over 40,000 euros.

Opel
Opel wants to be electric by 2028. An important step towards achieving this goal is the new Astra Electric, which will be available in the spring as a five-door and sports tourer with prices probably starting at 40,000 euros. For the drive, Opel combines a 115 kW/156 hp and 270 Nm electric motor with a 54 kWh underbody battery. The Electric is designed to travel up to 170 km/h and a range of up to 416 kilometers. As with Citroen’s e-Berlingo and e-Space Tourer, Opel’s Combo-e and Zafira-e Life counterparts will also get a facelift later in the year.

With the 408, Peugeot is offering a new mid-size crossover model that will go on sale in the spring. Prices for the 4.70 meter long French car with a 96 kW/130 hp petrol engine start at 38,800 euros. Alternatively, there are plug-in hybrids with 165 kW/225 hp and later also with 132 kW/180 hp. Facelifts for the 508 and 2008 will follow in the spring. From the fall, battery-electric drive variants of the compact 308 and 308 SW series will be available, analogous to the Astra Electric.

Next year, the model range of the electric Volvo subsidiary will grow. With the Polestar 3, there will be a counterpart to the Volvo SUV EX90 from autumn. A short time later, the Polestar 4, an electrically powered crossover, will round off the model range.

As a Geely subsidiary, Smart is making a new start with the #1 mini SUV. The 4.27 meter long five-door from China drives purely electrically and, thanks to 200 kW/272 hp, is even fast. The sprint to 100 is possible in 6.7 seconds, thanks to the 64 kWh battery, the Stromer, which is available at prices from 41,490 euros at the beginning of 2023, has a range of over 400 kilometers.

Subaru BRZ

The new Subaru BRZ will come to Europe after all.

ssangyong
With Torres, Ssangyong will launch a new SUV model below the Rexton in the fall. The 4.70 meter long five-door will initially be available with a 125 kW/170 hp petrol engine with either front or all-wheel drive. An electric version will follow later. In addition, the Rexton will receive a facelift in the course of the year.

Subaru
The new edition of the BRZ will start in early 2023. Like the Toyota counterpart GR 86, the sports coupé, which probably costs around 35,000 euros, is powered by a 172 kW/235 hp boxer engine.

Toyota bZ4X

The Toyota bZ4X will make its second attempt in early 2023.

Instead of summer 2022, Toyota is now launching its electric crossover model bZ4X in Europe at the beginning of 2023. The electric vehicle, which is around 4.70 meters long and costs 47,500 euros, offers a range of more than 500 kilometers. The second generation of the C-HR will follow at the end of 2023 with a new look and more space. As usual, there will be the brand-typical hybrid drive, and a plug-in hybrid is also planned.

Volvo EX90

Volvo EX90 is the name of the electric successor to the XC90. Customers in Germany will probably have to wait until 2024 for delivery.

Actually announced for 2022, the E-SUV VF8 and VF9 will only come to Germany at the beginning of 2023. Both are up to 300 kW/402 hp and offer a range of 471 or 594 kilometers. With the battery, the purchase price for the five-seater VF8 is 61,700 euros and the seven-seater VF9 is 82,250 euros.
Volvo
The successor to the XC90 is called the EX90. Combustion engines have had their day here. The basic variant of the seven-seat brand flagship, which costs 105,550 euros, is powered by two electric motors with 300 kW/408 hp or 380 kW/517 hp. A 111 kWh battery allows a range of almost 600 kilometers. The EX90 can be ordered immediately, but the first deliveries will not be made until the end of next year at the earliest. The EX90 will be preceded by the significantly smaller and also purely electrically powered EX30, which will be a technology brother of the Smart #1 and thus a Geely model in the B segment, which will probably cost around 45,000 euros.

VW ID.7

With the ID.7, VW will be launching a large electric sedan at the end of 2023.

VW
Similar to the Skoda Superb, there will be a new edition of the Passat based on MQB in the summer of 2023. However, the mid-range model will only be available in the estate version. A short time later, the new generation of the compact SUV Tiguan should be presented, which will receive a more elegant bodywork.
With the ID.7, VW will also be introducing a large sedan with an electric drive at the end of 2023, which ranges between the Passat and Phaeton in terms of length, but is slightly higher due to the underbody battery. The four-door car, which probably costs more than 60,000 euros, is said to have a range of up to 700 kilometers.

VW Amarok

The new edition of the Amarok is also in the starting blocks in 2023.

In addition to the luxury SUV Touareg, the ID.3 will also be given a facelift in the spring. Visually, there are small changes, the interior should be more valuable. The prices also rise to 44,000 euros. Lower-priced basic versions could follow later. Anyone who orders now will probably not receive the ID.3 until the fourth quarter of 2023.
The new edition of the Amarok, which is essentially the Ford Ranger, will also be available from dealers from May. The basic version, which will be bought primarily as a workhorse, should start at around 43,000 euros.
