I experienced my first Porsche on one of the two back seats. It was a tough place to be, but the beginning of a long term love. Because the first steps towards this goal have already been taken. After all, Porsche is celebrating an event on June 8th that invites you to look back. In 1948, 75 years ago, the first sports car was built in Gmünd, Austria, which was named after his family. Which was a boon for the nascent brand. Imagine if their creators had a different name, maybe Maier or Michel or Müller, all respectable families, but none sounds like a high-revving internal combustion engine in a sports car that is by no means easy to drive, and none would have the heat of shimmering exhaust gases and the smell of gum in the nose. The young company moved back to Stuttgart in 1949 with this Type 356, which did not have a real roof and was therefore allowed to bear the romantic name Roadster.
