Hong Kong-based investment firm Value Partners Group has announced a partnership with Indonesian investment firm Aldiracita Group (Aldiracita Sekuritas and STAR Asset Management) to mark its footprint in the archipelago.
Under the partnership, Sensible Asset Management Hong Kong Limited, a subsidiary of Value Partners, will acquire a 29.99% stake in STAR Asset Management. Conversely, Aldiracita Global Investment Pte Ltd will acquire a 29.99% stake in Value Partners Asset Management Singapore Pte Ltd. The acquisition is subject to approval from Indonesia’s financial services authority (OJK) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
June Wong, CEO of Value Partners Group, said they are in a strong position to bring innovative and distinct investment solutions to the Southeast Asian market. “We believe that this collaboration will enable us to tap new markets and capitalise on the region’s potential for long-term growth and development,” she said in a press conference on Wednesday.
Indonesia is one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia with a young population, and the rising middle class is expected to bring robust demand for increasingly high-quality and sophisticated asset and wealth management services in the country.
As a first step, Value Partners, STAR Asset Management, and Aldiracita Sekuritas will focus more on creating equity and fixed income mutual funds products. However, Wong stated that they will also be open to facilitating foreign companies in investing in Indonesia through private equity funds and other products to attract institutional investors.
“Indonesia is a big country with a strong economy; it will be an ingredient for private equity investment products to attract investors worldwide,” she said.
Established in 1993, Value Partners seeks to offer world-class investment services and products. The company has been a dedicated specialist value investor in Greater China and Asia.
