Dacia remains true to itself: With the Jogger Hybrid, the Romanian Renault subsidiary again offers the most affordable vehicle in the segment. Far and wide there is no cheaper hybrid family car with up to seven seats on the new car market. The 4.55 meter long and 141 hp mix of station wagon, panel van and minivan costs at least 24,100 euros. That’s at least 7,200 euros more than the cheapest jogger with a 101 hp three-cylinder LPG drive. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 110 hp for 17,300 euros completes the range of engines. Is the new hybrid version worth the hefty surcharge?
Our Jogger Hybrid hardly attracts attention on the road with robust wheel arch paneling, but with a decent design and in the unobtrusive body color dolomite gray. The test car is a seven-seater, the chairs in the third row cost 1000 euros extra. Inside, the spacious family friend presents itself without frills. After all, the Extreme equipment line shines recently with copper-colored inserts on air vents and door panels as well as colorful decorative stitching on the soft upholstery. The lower part of the dashboard is padded with soft foam, which conceals the generous use of hard plastic. Overall, the interior makes a solid, if not valuable impression.
