Dear reader,
On Monday there was once again a “car summit”. Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64) called together the leaders of the leading industry here. The bosses of Volkswagen, Mercedes, Bosch and ZF came, BMW CEO Oliver Zipse (59) did not. It also has the fewest problems and sells more electric cars than Mercedes or Audi.
Overall, there is evidence of e-car fatigue. The early adopters are taken care of, the general public is hesitant. Nevertheless, Scholz is sticking to his goal of having 15 million electric vehicles on Germany’s roads by 2030. How is that supposed to work? Only with generous state aid are they demanding the money in the industry that the Chancellor currently doesn’t have.
