After difficult years, sales figures on the US car market are pointing upwards again. The peak times before the corona pandemic are still not in sight. The majority of German manufacturers can score points again and intend to continue to attack the world’s second most important car market in the coming years.

Market researcher Cox Automotive expects a sales increase of less than 2 percent in the year that has just begun.
BMW and Audi are increasing
Meanwhile, German car manufacturers are coping better with the situation again. BMW has sales in the USA increased in the fourth quarter. The company announced the evening before in Woodcliff Lake that 107,881 BMW brand vehicles had been sold. That was 6 percent more than in the same period last year. In 2023, 362,244 cars were sold, 9 percent more than in the previous year.
Also the Volkswagen-Daughter Audi increased sales in the US in the fourth quarter. With 60,670 vehicles, 12 percent more were delivered than in the same period last year. In 2023 as a whole, 228,550 cars were sold, 22 percent more than in the previous year.

Not all manufacturers have yet presented their official figures for the end of last year, but market researchers are also looking at the Volkswagen brand and the sports car manufacturer Porsche from the VW Group expects a plus.
