German FAZ: Can engineers save lives, Lutz Eckstein?007012

Without electrical engineers and mechanical engineers, civil engineers and communications engineers, literally nothing would work in our technological world. The major tasks of our time, such as climate protection, would not be possible without engineers. There are 1.9 million engineers in Germany, but their voice is rarely heard in political discourse. Professor Lutz Eckstein, President of the VDI, the Association of German Engineers, since last year, wants to change that.
