Carwow launches new Assured Scheme to protect dealers

Carwow has launched its new Assured Scheme, dubbed Carwow Collects, to protect dealers from financial losses caused by unknown issues with a vehicle bought at a Carwow auction.

Dealers can make a request of up to £25,000 where an eligible vehicle needs repairs that were not picked up in the inspection. A request can also be made where financial loss was suffered if the vehicle was clocked, cloned, stolen, imported or re-mapped.

Sally Foote, Carwow’s CCO – Sell My Car, said: “We already offer numerous safeguards for dealers, including pre-qualification of every vehicle that enters our auction, but this extended service now adds a game-changing layer of reassurance for dealers and helps to maintain profitability on vehicles, should there be certain undisclosed or unknown issues.

“The recently launched BuySafe initiative will remain in place to safeguard dealers that make their own transport arrangements.

“However, our dealer partners have been asking for an enhanced level of protection, so we evolved our offering to include greater peace of mind as a core component of our transport solution which can be accessed via a simple requests process.”

Carwow Collects involves a trained transport and appraisal agent visiting the seller and carrying out thorough visual checks, sharing photos with the dealer in real-time and performing a test drive. The agent will call the dealer to discuss any issues and renegotiate the price with the seller if necessary.

It also enables dealers to access a wider choice of vehicles. Carwow will liaise directly with the seller, coordinating the handover of relevant documentation and arranging a convenient collection time.
