The truck and rail supplier Knorr-Bremse is divesting itself of another peripheral business. GT Emissions Systems, a manufacturer of exhaust gas control systems for diesel engines in trucks and construction vehicles, will be sold to the British financial investor Rcapital Partners, Knorr-Bremse announced in Munich on Monday.
The throttle and exhaust gas recirculation flaps are the prerequisite for compliance with emissions standards. A selling price was not mentioned. The responsible board member Bernd Spies (58) spoke of the “next significant progress in portfolio optimization” in the commercial vehicle division. Knorr-Bremse acquired GT from Peterlee in northern England in 2016. The company recently had sales of around 70 million euros.
Knorr-Bremse: CEO Marc Llistosella wants to double the market value
The separation from GT Emissions Systems is the third successful sale of a stake for Knorr-Bremse this year. CEO Marc Llistosella (57) announced last year that he would bring the world market leader in train and commercial vehicle brakes to a sales volume of eight to nine billion euros and an operating return on sales of more than 14 percent by 2026. He is also targeting the sale of parts of the company with a sales volume of up to 1.4 billion euros.
