The economy is groaning under the heavy burden of bureaucracy. The AfD and the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) are taking advantage of this in the election campaign in Saxony and Thuringia in order to give themselves a medium-sized-business-friendly appearance before the state elections there on September 1st. “Shrink ministries to health! Eliminate bureaucracy!” is a campaign slogan of the partly right-wing extremist AfD in Saxony. The BSW, the new party of the former left-wing politician Wagenknecht, assures in its election program for Thuringia that it is committed to “protecting our industry and relieving our medium-sized businesses of bureaucracy”. “The bureaucracy monster has never been bigger than under Habeck. This economics minister is strangling the economy and is a danger to the location,” complains party leader Wagenknecht.
