From the perspective of Ford CEO Jim Farley, based in Dearborn near Detroit, the discussions about electric cars appear very different than in Europe: “So far we are only in the first round of the race to reduce CO2 emissions,” says Farley the F.A.Z. His imagination is that of baseball, where there are usually nine periods of the game, which the Americans call “innings”. This says that from Farley’s perspective there is still a long way to go and nothing has been finally decided yet. “Some European manufacturers had a pretty bad first half of the game,” says Farley.
