Volkswagen wants to reduce wages and salaries by ten percent, close three plants and still cut tens of thousands of jobs. How can a union demand a seven percent increase in wages in such a situation, Ms. Boguslawski? What is coming from Volkswagen is a scandal. There should even be a loss of up to 18 percent for employees individually, depending on which individual regulations are to be deleted. We are particularly shocked by the bulldozer mentality with which co-determination and the traditionally good social partnership are being bulldozed away. But: One is the in-house collective agreement at Volkswagen, a company with problems caused by the management itself. The other is the negotiations for the entire metal and electrical industry with its four million employees.
