When Economics Minister Robert Habeck was recently in the Indian capital New Delhi, he clearly enjoyed one appointment: the conversation with students from the “Teri” university, which specializes in sustainability issues. To his surprise, the topic of climate protection was not high on the agenda in the political discussions, said Habeck. He was correspondingly relieved when the students assured him that rising temperatures and changing seasons were definitely an issue at home. Habeck told how the Fridays for Future movement had changed politics in Germany, and how the young people in the Lusatian coalfield literally demanded transformation from him. At the end, he proudly held up to the cameras a “roadmap” agreed with the Indian government for hydrogen cooperation.
