Biden surprised before the start of the summit: According to media reports, he allowed Ukraine to use long-range missiles against certain targets in Russia. The initial aim is to defend the Ukrainian-held areas in the western Russian region of Kursk. Before the meeting, Scholz at least reiterated Germany’s willingness to support Ukraine for as long as necessary.
