There is a heated debate these days about how bad the German economy really is. Pessimists are already seeing the lights go out in the face of persistent weak growth and increasing global crises; Optimists consider such assessments to be completely exaggerated, preferring to point to the high performance of local companies and the still large human capital. In short: the situation seems serious, but not hopeless. At least good business can still be done in the fragile global economic environment, depending on the industry and region, as some companies have just reported for the third quarter.
