Germany is facing its most difficult economic challenges in generations. For the first time since the founding of the Federal Republic 75 years ago, the question seriously arises: Is it possible that Germany will fail due to economic challenges and have to accept a gradual but unstoppable erosion of its prosperity? Will future history books say that Germany stood for success and glory in an industrial society, but that the country subsequently failed to make the transition to a modern, digitalized knowledge and service society?
