German FAZ: “We have focused too one-sidedly on climate protection”008317

We’re getting a new government, which one I don’t want to speculate about. But one thing is certain: the energy transition will continue, but it needs a correction. In Germany, we may have focused too one-sidedly on the issue of climate protection in the past. Successful energy policy must take two further fundamental aspects into account: security of supply and affordability. This triad of energy policy was even laid down in the Energy Industry Act, but has faded into the background over time. The war in Ukraine and the subsequent energy crisis changed that suddenly. The triad must now also be reflected in politics.
