German Manager Magazine: Mercedes-Benz: Britta Seeger takes over human resources department, Continental CFO Olaf Schick becomes legal director003814

The car manufacturer Mercedes Benz is restructuring its board on a large scale. There are changes in four positions, as the Stuttgart DAX group announced. Mercedes is saying goodbye to three highly valued board members when their contracts expire, it was said. As a result, the board is becoming younger and more male.

Head of Human Resources and Labor Director Sabine Kohleisen (60) will therefore resign her mandate early at the end of April 2025. Her contract would have expired in November 2025. The previous sales director Britta Seeger (55) will take over her position. From March of next year, the position of sales director will be held by the previous head of the van division, Mathias Geisen.

New legal director comes from Continental

Renata Jungo Brüngger, whose board area includes the legal area, will leave the company at the end of October 2025, shortly before her contract expires, it was said. Her successor on October 1, 2025 will be Olaf Schick, currently a board member at the supplier Continental. Schick is moving back to his former employer.

Board of Directors for Greater China In February 2025, Oliver Thöne, currently head of product strategy and control, will take on one of the most important key positions in vehicle development, according to Mercedes. He succeeds Hubertus Troska, who will remain on board as board member and general representative for China until the end of July.

Mercedes has recently been weak in the important Chinese market. The sluggish business caused the car manufacturer to experience a slump in profits in the third quarter. In November, the company announced that it wanted to reduce costs by several billion euros annually in the coming years.
