A good two months before the early federal election, the election campaign is gaining momentum. Just in time for the vote of confidence from Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) in the Bundestag, the CDU/CSU, SPD and Greens have completed their election programs. Economic policy takes up a lot of space in each case. But leading economists express doubts as to whether the parties’ plans are sufficient to restore growth rates in Germany like those in other industrialized countries.
