According to a report, location data for around 800,000 electric cars from the VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda brands have been made public at the Volkswagen Group. By comparing them with other data on the internet, in many cases they could have been linked to the names and contact details of the drivers and thus used for movement profiles, reported the news magazine “Spiegel”. The “Chaos Computer Club” reported the security gap to the Volkswagen software subsidiary Cariad.
