Top representatives of the Opel parent company Stellantis emphasized the importance of the German business for the group during a visit to Rüsselsheim. “Opel and Germany are very important to Stellantis,” said Stellantis Chairman John Elkann, according to a press release published on Wednesday. Elkann belongs to the Fiat Agnelli dynasty, the largest individual shareholder in Stellantis – the group was created in 2021 through a merger of Fiat Chrysler with the French Groupe PSA.
