There is a number in the German energy transition that sounds quite abstract but is nevertheless an important basis for planning for the coming years: By 2030, the Ministry of Economic Affairs expects annual electricity demand in Germany to increase to up to 750 terawatt hours. A terawatt hour is a billion kilowatt hours.
