The German new car market continues to bump into it. In 2024, exactly 2,817,331 cars were re -approved, one percent less than in the previous year. Before Corona, more than three million new cars were the rule, the record is even 3.8 million. The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) in Flensburg, which is meticulously divided into eleven segments, regardless of the drive, i.e. diesel , Gasoline or electrical. When comparing the past year in 2023, it is striking: Not only with regard to the drive, the preferences of customers change, the market itself is also in motion. Although SUVs and off -road vehicles have been the first choice for four out of ten new car customers for some time, it is not foreseeable that something changes, but the very small cars (Fiat 500 and Co.), which KBA calls Minicars. Their share is still 2.9 percent, which corresponds to a decline of more than 40 percent.
