The car maker Opel permanently hires 74 employees. The works council and management were in negotiations on further takeover, the company said on Thursday. Opel boss Florian Huettl described the settings in the Rüsselsheim vehicle work as “evidence that production in our home market in Germany is very important for us”. Economic Minister Kaweh Mansori described the news as “encouraging” .opel had exposed production for a week in December and then reduced it to a shift. In addition, according to IG Metall, 200 temporary workers were deregistered. According to the union, fewer than 8,000 employees are now working at the location for Opel and the parent company Stellantis. The company only wants to publish current figures after the annual balance of Stellantis published at the end of February. In Rüsselsheim’s work, the Opel Astra is manufactured in all variants and drive forms. The DS 4 of the French sister brand DS Automobiles also runs off the assembly line there.
