The EU Commission wants to loosen the EU exhaust gas goals for the auto industry. Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen announced on Monday after a meeting with the most important companies, the board of directors that she wanted to give the industry more air so that it could more easily comply with the so-called fleet limit values for CO2 emissions. Specifically, the Leyen wants to give the car companies three years to meet the limit values. Fine due to violations should only be imposed if the limit values are not reached over a three -year average from 2025 to 2027.
