Topic of the week: How BYD finally wants to get started in Germany

While BYD conquers market shares quickly in Southeast Asia, Africa and South America, the expansion to Europe has been slow to date. China’s largest automobile manufacturer is biting their teeth in Germany, especially at Germany. Two top managers want to change: Stella Li (55) and Maria Grazia Davino (46). The one Chinese, for almost 30 years in the company and number two in the Group behind Wang Chuanfu (58). The other Italian has only been there for a few months after she has led various European markets for Fiat Chrysler and later Stellantis for many years. At the end of February, the top duo Li-Davino gave the manager magazine its first interview: A conversation about structural and cultural challenges

How quickly break down batteries? You know it from smartphones or laptops, over time the batteries run out of juice faster and faster. Anyone who drives an e-bike does not have to make a head-similar to electric cars. One study

The insurer’s value guarantee shows: E-bike batteries deliver stable performance for years. The users are correspondingly satisfied.

In the automotive industry, the balance sheet season always means: time for premiums. The fact that the industry was doing better not only shows the view of sales, sales or profit. The special payments of the companies to their employees have also dropped in many places. For German employees of the Stellantis car maker, there was 560 euros gross after it was 1850 euros a year earlier. At Mercedes, the premium of up to 7,300 euros in the previous year To a maximum of 5220 euros.

If Tesla driving was the ultimate for many for a long time, the car manufacturer has right now to fight declining sales figures. This could be done if Tesla is through the model change at Model Y. However, it is uncertain whether it happens, because the “Musk-Scham” now seems to grab more and more. It started with stickers who distanced themselves from Elon Musk (53), now “disguises” some Tesla drivers as a Audi, Mazda or Honda

. Even those who would like to drive Tesla bounced up on rejection: in Switzerland, the police moved a cyber truck with Baseler at the end of February out of traffic

And put the car silent. The “insurance control sign” did not help either. This is intended for vehicles that are not officially approved, but still be allowed to drive temporarily on public roads. Since the cyberruck does not correspond to Swiss standards, it does not fall under that exception.

Come through the week well.

Your Christoph Seyerlein
