Wiesbaden. With regard to the cancellation of festivals for high costs for security, the country wants to help the municipalities financially. The state is available for the immediate program “Security at events”, among other things, one million euros, Interior Minister Roman Poseck (CDU) in Wiesbaden announced that municipalities worked on security issues. “Festures usually do not take place at the same time, so that locks from various municipalities can be used, for example,” explained the minister. “We will do everything we can to enable events in Hesse in the future.” This year there are some events in Hesse or are celebrated for the last time. This also has to do with increased expenses and requirements. Among other things, the cherry blossom festival had been canceled in Marburg. Poseck pointed out that in Hesse countless events in the past few months could have taken place peacefully and cheerfully despite the tense security situation. “They are important for the happy and sociable togetherness of people and thus the cohesion in our society,” said Poseck.
