Wiesbaden/Bad Vilbel. In view of the Israeli attack on Iran, the Hessian Interior Minister claims that he does not expect direct consequences at the Hessentag in Bad Vilbel just started. Roman Poseck (CDU) announced to the German Press Agency that the state festival with around 750,000 expected visitors until June 22, as well as the Jewish institutions in the country, are already in the focus of the security authorities. Effects of the current developments in the Middle East “are currently not evident on the safety of Hessentag,” explained Poseck. The security measures are high anyway. There is an extensive concept for this. A separate police station was also set up at the state festival. Many officials are in uniform and also civil. The police are available at the Hessentag and are close to the citizens. According to Poseck, the security level is so high in the Jewish facilities in Hesse, such as the synagogues that it is currently not necessary to further tighten the measures. “However, the Hessian security authorities will observe the further development and be very vigilant,” said the minister and also referred to any demonstrations in view of the Iran conflict. The Interior Ministers’ Conference in Bremerhaven has currently dealt with this. (dpa.)
