Seligenstadt. A fire broke out in a building of the nursery of the monastery in Seligenstadt (Offenbach district). According to initial knowledge, nobody was injured, as the police said. After the outbreak of the fire, several fire departments are also from other municipalities on site. The monastery itself – a former Benedictine abbey – is probably not endangered. According to a police spokesman, the emergency services were alerted shortly before 2:30 p.m. When they arrived, they already found enormous smoke from the roof structure of the historic building tract, as it was said. Because of the smoke, the residents should keep doors and windows closed. According to the police, the deletion measures were difficult. When they could be ended is still unclear, it said in the evening. An excavator carries parts of the roof so that the emergency services could get to the source of the fire.
