A dispute between Audi boss Gernot Döllner (56) and sales director Marco Schubert (51) has been in and around Ingolstadt Talk of the Town for a few weeks. The shocks that the case triggered in the company show one thing above all: something is wrong with Audi. Proponents attest to Gernot Döllner that he is consistent. Opponents etch, he thinks, no matter what it is about, for the smartest and all know that. “Döllner doesn’t make his people close to the heart,” says a very high -ranking former colleague, “he grabs her on his neck.” In his research, my colleague Michael Freitag joined the VW subsidiary. Charlotte in North Carolina wears the nickname “Queen City”. Karin Rådström (46) has been considered the “Queen of the Road” since she rose to the boss at Daimler Truck. The fact that the Swede holds her first capital market day in Charlotte on July 8th could therefore be described as a perfect symbiosis. A savings program in Germany, merger in Japan, new chief renovator from the USA. My colleagues Margret Hucko and Michael Freitag report exclusively, Why she is now planning to retreat from China

.

The new Stellis boss Antonio Filosa has to remove some lazy apples that the owner Carlos Tavares (66) left him. At the start, he caught him directly Driving ban for hundreds of thousands of Citroëns, triggered by a fatal airbag explosion in France. Otherwise the freshly compiled one has Management team

of the multimark car manufacturer a lot to do. Filosa could fillet Stellantis, Maserati is considered a obvious victim.

Sigrid Nikutta (56) CEO has been a few days longer than Filosa. It was exactly in 2002 on Tuesday. The boss of DB Cargo shared this with her 94,000-LinkedIn

-Follovers and praised themselves and their troops in a tried and tested football prose (“What counts, is on the square”) for the renovation of the company, in which the “team just really” reached a lot.

Otherwise they are sometimes spectacularly unsuccessful-hardly anyone does anything for the railway board members when it comes to their own. From the change of power in Berlin, many also hoped for fresh signals for an end to the permanent disaster Deutsche Bahn. The coalition agreement is ominous that there should be a “reorganization of the supervisory board and the board” on the railway. Is everything different now, or is the new Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder (57; CDU) continue? Our railway representative Michael Machatschke has little hope: Schnieder’s personnel decisions are feared, that the promised new railway is threatened to fail before it started correctly

.

In order not to risk your own reputation, the railway is also delayed in the renovation of the rails. The update for the most busy routes should actually be through by 2031. The railway now turns it into it in 2035.

The federal government does not emit a good picture in the Northvolt case. The Battery cell manufacturer

Among other things, with 600 million euros from the federal government and the state of Schleswig-Holstein wanted to pull up a factory in Heide. The PwC Economic Expervision Experience used Waved the convertible bond. Is the money gone? The new Federal Minister of Economics Katherina Reiche (51; CDU) complained to her predecessor Robert Habeck (55; Greens) on Wednesday for his “faulty” investment decision. At least there is obviously one Offer of an even unknown prospectwho also wants to take over the German location.

Had Continental last Easy signs of relaxation sent, these have already evaporated. The US tariffs in particular tire to be veritable brake block at the tire manufacturer. On Tuesday Capped his forecast for the current year.

While Contis is about Aumovio car division just in front of the IPO, the Berlin online car dealer Autodoc has its IPO Shortly blown again shortly before. For Autodoc it is an inglorious déjà-vu: as early as 2021, the company stumbled into the floor while walking.

Tesla took a light version in Austin last weekend in Austin unlocked its robotaxid service. Safety drivers sit on the passenger seat of the cars, and only selected Elon influencers were allowed to be carried through the area as “paying customers” at the start. Technically, the start in Texas was bumpy, videos showed Robo-teslas, who steered in oncoming traffic. This calls US authorities. Tesla’s share initially benefited from the narrow-gauge robo roll-out, and it temporarily increased by more than 10 percent.

From a cynical point of view, our DeepDrive is more of a Deepdive this week: the cargo ship “Morning Midas” fell after a devastating fire in the North Atlantic. There were around 3000 cars on board. In such cases, the question arises reflexively: Was it an electric car? Some shipping companies have already stopped transporting vehicles with a battery. Helmut Reich investigated this question for us: rightly or wrongly?

Number of the week: 885,000

The bike industry has come quite wheeled in the past two years. Is the kick start out of the crisis now? The sales figures in Germany in the first quarter of 2025, which the two-wheeler industry association (ZIM) presented this week, give hope: 385,000 conventional bicycles and around 500,000 e-bikes bring the scene in the year an upswing by 10.6 percent.

Chinese cars in the port of Shanghai: Everything has to go out

China’s automotive industry amazes the world with ever newer models at ever shorter intervals. The dark side: it is a sick business. Fired of state funding, so many brands fight in China that not even the largest car market in the world can even catch it. The consequences are massive overproduction and export waves. Not all in the world, customers have long been waiting for Chinese cars. Even the stars of the scene stumble: BYD apparently had to reduce its production. Some Chinese manufacturers apparently already use the more questionable methods: New cars are sold as supposed used carsto get rid of them with price discounts. This is the only way to maintain their growth, reports the Reuters news agency. True to the motto: Push it to the limit.

Come through the week well.

Your Christoph Seyerlein
