German FAZ: Up to 5000 euros subsidy for the electric car010294

In Brussels, the black-red federal government wants to advocate for a longer future for dual-drive cars and at the same time promote the purchase of purely electric cars and plug-in hybrids in Germany. The coalition committee agreed on Friday night to once again set up a purchase premium and to make a total of three billion euros available from the climate and transformation fund. Private individuals with low and middle incomes should be supported with up to 5,000 euros when buying or leasing a new car. In total, the purchase of around 600,000 cars could be funded, said CSU boss Markus Söder during a press conference. The funding program will lead to a “huge boost for the domestic market” and secure added value and jobs in Germany.
