The Volkswagen subsidiary Cupra is getting serious about the electric small car. But the start in Spain turns out to be more difficult than expected. At the Seat Group factory in Martorell near Barcelona, a covered bridge more than 600 meters long symbolizes the new era. It leads from the new battery assembly plant to the production halls, which are slightly below. Every 45 seconds next year, the conveyor belts will bring a new battery for the group’s electric small car family, the “Urban Car Family”, to the production hall; 1200 a day and 300,000 a year.
