Vehicle manufacturer BMW uses Alejandro Vukotich as successor to Elmar Frickenstein.
Until the year 2021 should be an automated BMW be made. There are a number of companies for that gathered around and soon more will be added. The statements about the degree of autonomy of the vehicle are not always consistent. It should be about a car with Level 3 (partial autonomy) act.
Now the development specialist and IT specialist, Alejandro Vukotich, takes over the management of the promising segment at BMW. The former head of the department, Elmar Frickenstein, is retiring soon. From the first of January 2019, there will be a three-month transitional phase in which both will lead the department.
Elmar Frickenstein has led the area since 2016 and co-founded it. Before that, it was the Electrical, Electronics and Driving Experience section. Alejandro Vukotich has been working on assistance systems and autonomous driving for almost 20 years.
BMW’s networked and autonomous driving activities are concentrated on the Autonomous Driving Campus in Unterschleissheim near Munich. Since April of this year, everything in the area takes place there.
