VW & JAC for Autonomous Driving in China

The Volkswagen Group is working with JAC to provide Autonomous Driving in China.

China is one of the most important markets for automakers and of course is too Volkswagen represented there. For the dissemination of the autonomous vehicles under the mark seat Volkswagen wants with the Chinese manufacturer JAC (Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co) work together.

If you want to do business in China, you need a Chinese partner. This process has given China the knowledge and competence with which it has now become the economic superpower. For Volkswagen, there are different partners, as well FAW. SAIC or even JAC.

Already two years ago, the two companies JAC and VW founded a joint venture, with the production of e-vehicles for Seat went. Now we want to devote ourselves together to the development of autonomous driving. In this way, tests can also be carried out in China, specifically in the city of Hefei. JAC is located at the site.

Together, they want to make the development of automated vehicles from Seat for the Chinese market. It is obviously also about robotic taxis and vehicle fleet management.
