Iain Sanderson, CEO of Lightning GT, has announced that they are in advanced talks to secure the Lightning car’s future this year.
“We have received a very serious approach to join forces with a mainland Europe technology based automotive business to combine their leading edge platform with our GT coupe and future model range.
The merging of the stunning Lightning GT coupe with the continental platform is very compelling. Whilst Brexit is a self inflicted automotive manufacturing disaster, we are determined to work around the negatives and focus on the upside, our new partner’s technology and the mutual desire to create a beautiful GT car for the discerning driver. Production in the UK of an updated and leading edge Lightning GT is slated for Europe and Asia in 2021 and then USA availability in 2023.
We will make further announcements this Autumn as we confirm the plans for our future.”
