Inchcape has opened a new Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) dealership in Derby.
The six acre site combines the previous Jaguar dealership next to the former Derby Cattle Market and the Land Rover dealership at Pride Park.
Marcus Jones, our head of business at Derby said: “Having worked with the brand for over 20 years, it is a really exciting opportunity to lead on the opening of this impressive retail outlet.
“I know our customers will enjoy their welcoming experience with the convenience of parking, a comfortable lounge area and friendly colleagues to greet them.
“As a team we love the new environment and look forward the rest of 2019 here and in to 2020.”
The new dealership implements the “Jaguar Land Rover Retail Concept Store” dual-brand strategy.
There are future plans to create a similar concept at other locations, including Guildford, Norwich and Kings Lynn.
Inchcape recently reported a “challenging” UK new car market in Q3 as it announced total group revenues up 5%.
The company continues to shift the focus of its business to distribution selling off non-core retail businesses and investing in distribution. Recent disposal of retail businesses in the UK, China and Australia have realised £250m.
The strength of its UK 30-year relationship with Daimler helped in its bid to buy the Daimler distributor business in Uruguay and Ecuador.
Stefan Bomhard, group CEO of Inchcape, said: “I am pleased with the significant strategic progress we have made over the last three months.
Distribution is Inchcape’s core focus and a review of our portfolio has driven the disposal of retail-only assets in China, Australia, and the UK, which were sub-scale and non-core businesses and could not be leveraged to drive our distribution business.
“I am pleased that we will generate cash proceeds of £250m from these disposals.”
