Autonomous ferry in Norway

The Swedish company Ericsson Cooperates with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) to operate an Autonomous Ferry. This development is currently enjoying Norway great popularity.

Ericsson is networking for the ferry named “milliAmpère”, which travels over the Trondheim port channel 5G, The powerful 5G connection allows the transmission of sensor data to a central office in Gløshaugen where it is evaluated. From there it can also be operated by remote control.

Also in South Korea, specifically in Geoje City, one tests such ships. It works Samsungthat supplies the sensors with the company SK Telecom together, which also allows a 5G connection there.
