Vertu Motors has completed a £5m Mercedes-Benz dealership in Reading, as part of a major refurbishment project.
The new dealership’s showroom and workshop have been being extended.
The showroom size has been increased to 14 cars and the service reception designed and refurbished to the latest Mercedes-Benz corporate standards.
Mark Gibbings, market area director, Vertu Mercedes-Benz said: “Vertu Motors has invested a huge amount of money in this project and it demonstrates a fantastic amount of confidence in our colleagues, the Reading area and our customers.
“The new dealership is one-stop shop for all of our customer’s needs and they can be assured they will receive the excellent customer service they are used to, in superb surroundings with fantastic facilities.”
In January Vertu Motors bought four Volkswagen car dealerships in West Yorkshire from Sytner for £8.8m, including £1.5m of goodwill.
The businesses in Leeds, Huddersfield, Harrogate and Skipton bring Vertu’s number of Volkswagen dealerships to nine. The four dealerships generate annual pre-tax profits of £600,000 on turnover of £112m.
Vertu said it expects the acquisition to be earnings enhancing in the first full year of ownership.
The group also announced that it had exited the Volvo franchise in Derby in December with the business transferring to Marshall.
