Europa Press: Skoda to assemble new Superb in Slovakia to increase Kodiaq production in Czech Republic000900

MLADÁ BOLESLAV (CZECH REPUBLIC), Nov. 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The automobile firm Skoda has announced that it will move the production of the next generation of its Superb model from the Czech plant in Kvasiny to Bratislava, Slovakia, where it will begin to assemble the vehicle from 2023 to have a greater capacity in the Czech Republic .
In this way, Skoda will use this space in Kvasiny to increase the construction of its Kodiaq and Karoq SUV models, as well as to manufacture an additional model in those facilities.
“By relocating the production of the next generation of the Superb from the Czech Republic to Slovakia, Skoda will free up the necessary capacity in the Czech Republic for its growth plans,” the Volkswagen group firm underlined.
Furthermore, Skoda has announced that the next generation of the Kodiaq will also continue to be produced in the Czech Republic.

“We welcome the group’s planning decisions regarding the plant occupancy. It will provide us with the additional capacity in the Czech Republic that Skoda so urgently needs to grow,” underlined Skoda CEO Thomas Schäfer.
Currently, Skoda produces the Kodiaq, Karoq, Superb and their plug-in hybrid version at Kvasiny. The availability of additional capacity will allow him to increase the volume of these two SUVs, which are in “high demand”, as well as to assemble another model there. It will also allow to reduce the delivery times of your vehicles.
In another vein, the German consortium, as it did in India, has appointed Skoda responsible for the development of the Russian and North African markets for the entire group.
“In addition to the India region, we will also manage the growing markets of Russia and North Africa. The fact that we have been entrusted with these tasks highlights the level of trust that the management of the Volkswagen group places in the expertise of the Skoda team.” , added Schäfer.
