The car you’re looking at is dubbed the Rinspeed Porsche R69 Turbo and while you’ve probably never heard of it, it is both fast and very rare. At the time of its launch in the 1980s, it was often referred to as the Porsche Testarossa.
Each and every Rinspeed Porsche R69 Turbo started out life as a Porsche 930, also known as the first-generation 911 Turbo. Those who owned a 930 would then ship it to Rinspeed in Switzerland who would then transform it by taking inspiration from the famed Ferrari Testarossa and its distinctively 1980s side strakes .

Adorning the exterior of each R69 Turbo was a lightweight bodykit made from fiberglass and complete with a new front section, sides with very similar strakes to the Ferrari Testarossa, and an overhauled rear fascia. Rinspeed also equipped the car with pop-up headlights borrowed from the Porsche 944. The 944’s taillights are also featured.
This particular unit was painted blue when it left Porsche’s factory but has since been finished in Pearl White. It is understood that just 12 examples were ever manufactured and the Collecting Cars listing notes that the headlights and sunroof all function as they should. The 15-inch Gotti split-rim alloys also catch the eye.
As for the interior, it is clad in brown leather with tartan center cloth panels and while there is some minor wear on the driver’s seat outer bolster and some other small marks across the cabin, it all looks to be in good condition.
The car has been driven a touch over 69,000 miles and at the time of writing, bidding had reached £50,000 (~$69,000) with 12 days left in the auction.
