The Mercedes-Benz B-Class 2021 says goodbye to a 4MATIC diesel … but debuts a novelty in gasoline
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class range says goodbye to the diesel version B 200 d with 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Despite this, the manufacturer incorporates a gasoline variant … as unusual as it is interesting.
Although minivans are not going through their best moment, there are some alternatives that still enjoy a more than reasonable level of sales, such as the Mercedes-Benz B-Class. This premium MPV shares numerous elements with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and competes mainly with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, although he does not lose sight of the Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer, Renault Scénic or the Volkswagen touran.

One of the many assets of the Mercedes Benz Class B is in its range of engines, with options for all tastes. Of course, it must be borne in mind that the brand has just eliminated the B 200 d diesel version with 150 hp and 4MATIC all-wheel drive, so families should opt for their SUV brothers -the GLA or GLB- if they want a close alternative with this mechanical combination.
Despite this, the Mercedes-Benz B-Class does not give up presenting another important novelty. We refer to the 163 hp B 200 petrol variant with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the 8G-DCT eight-speed automatic gearbox. With this 1.3 Turbo it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.7 seconds, reaches a maximum speed of 219 km / h and declares an expense of between 5.9 and 6.3 liters / 100 km.
At the moment, the 163 hp Mercedes-Benz B 200 4MATIC 8G-DCT is not available in the Spanish market, but we can find it in Europe. For example, in Germany it is made available to buyers with a price of 37,580 euros, which represents an increase of 4,415 euros compared to the conventional B 200 version with the manual transmission of six relationships.
