Valtteri Bottas Waxes Lyrical About The Go-Anywhere Ineos Grenadier – CarScoops

Finnish racing driver Valtteri Bottas may have lost his seat at the Mercedes F1 team for 2022 and will be joining Alfa Romeo for the next season, but he still has some contractual obligations to fulfill and that seemingly includes helping to promote the Ineos Grenadier.

As of December 2020, Ineos has held a one-third stake in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team, meaning the chemical giant now owns the same 33 per cent stake in the company as Toto Wolff and Daimler itself. Ineos recently called on the services of Bottas to put the Grenadier to the test through some difficult off-road terrain.

The video is narrated by Bottas where he speaks about how much he loves exploring the outdoors and going off-roading. During the clip, he is shown driving the Grenadier through muddy terrain, water crossings, and along stunning paved mountain passes. According to the 10-time F1 race winner, properly testing a vehicle like the Grenadier is extremely important in ensuring it proves to be a good car.

The Ineos Grenadier has been a long time in the making and was conceived following news that Land Rover was retiring the original Defender. Powering the off-roader will be BMW-sourced six-cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains that work alongside an eight-speed ZF transmission.

In September, Ineos Automotive announced that UK pricing for the Grenadier will start at approximately £48,000 ($65,000). Sales of the off-roader will then expand to other markets across Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and North America. Key pricing details for North American models haven’t been announced yet, but Ineos says it will launch the Grenadier locally in the summer of 2023.
