Traffic & Rescue

  • Avalon Beach. Shortly after 2.00pm Tuesday, 14 December, NSW Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a car that had collided with a parked vehicle at Hudson Parade, Avalon Beach. The male and female occupants of the vehicle were assessed by paramedics and one person in their 70s was transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.

  • Balgowlah. Just after 4.00pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Balgowlah Road, Balgowlah.
  • Balgowlah Heights. Just before 7.15pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to a report of a person driving erratically at Woodland Street S, Balgowlah Heights.
  • Bayview. Shortly after 4.30pm Monday, 13 December, emergency services were called to a report of a large truck (main image) that had lost its brakes downhill and had crashed into a residential property at Pittwater Road, Bayview. The truck crashed through fencing at the front of the home and became lodged in the garden, but did not enter the home. The truck driver escaped without serious injury but the truck required a heavy tow vehicle to release it from the front yard. The truck was removed from the property and the incident was complete just before 9.00pm.
  • Beacon Hill. Just before midday Sunday, 12 December, NSW Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at Warringah Road, Beacon Hill. An elderly woman was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition. A westbound lane of Warringah Road was closed for around an hour.
  • Beacon Hill. Just after 1.30pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at Warringah Road, Beacon Hill. No injuries were reported. Westbound traffic was affected for around half an hour.
  • Brookvale. Shortly after 9.00am Monday, 13 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Alfred Road, Brookvale.
  • Brookvale. Shortly after 3.00pm Monday, 13 December, emergency services were called to a vehicle that had rolled and hit a light pole at Pittwater Road, Brookvale, near Old Pittwater Road. A man and two children managed to escape from the overturned vehicle without injury. Northbound traffic was affected for around an hour.

  • Brookvale. Just after 5.00pm Wednesday, 15 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of a skateboard injury at William Street, Brookvale. A man in his 20s had fallen from his board, suffering a shoulder injury. He was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Brookvale. Just before 10.00pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Beacon Hill Road, Brookvale.
  • Brookvale. Just after 10.00pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale.
  • Collaroy. Shortly after 10.30am Saturday, 11 December, a two-car collision at Pittwater Road, Collaroy, near Collaroy Street disrupted northbound traffic on Pittwater Road for around an hour until the vehicles were cleared.
  • Collaroy Plateau. Shortly before 5.00pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to assist a boy who had fallen from a skateboard at Collaroy Plateau. He was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Davidson. Shortly after 11.15pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Sir Thomas Mitchell Drive, Davidson.
  • Dee Why. Shortly after 4.30pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to assist an elderly man who had fallen at Howard Avenue, Dee Why. He was assessed and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Dee Why. Just after 6.00am Wednesday, 15 December, two NSW Ambulance paramedic crews were called to a collision involving a van at Pittwater Road, Dee Why, near Lismore Avenue. The driver of the van was not seriously injured and did not require transport to hospital. Traffic on Pittwater Road was impacted for just over half an hour in both directions.
  • Freshwater. Shortly after 2.30pm Monday, 13 December, emergency services were called to a report of a head on collision between two vehicles travelling at moderate speed at Carrington Parade, Freshwater. One of the drivers, a 19-year-old woman, was provided first aid by Fire and Rescue NSW until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics who assessed her for neck and back pain. She was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

  • Ingleside. Shortly after 2.30pm Sunday, 12 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a mountain bike trail off Wakehurst Parkway, Ingleside. A male rider in his 40s had come off his bike over a jump, sustaining injuries to his hip and ribs. He was assisted from the scene and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Killarney Heights. Just before 3.45pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of an injury at a skate park at Melwood Oval, Killarney Heights. They treated a boy with a cut to his head and took him to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Manly. Just after 11.45am Wednesday, 15 December, two NSW Ambulance crews responded to a two-vehicle collision at Central Avenue, Manly. The occupants of the vehicles were assessed by paramedics but were not injured and did not require transport to hospital.
  • Manly Vale. 3.30pm Sunday, 12 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a home at Manly Vale following reports a young boy had been splashed with scalding water. He was treated and taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.
  • Mona Vale. Just before 10.30am Sunday, 12 December, NSW Police received a report of a two-car collision at Pittwater Road, Mona Vale, near Coronation Street. Traffic was only disrupted for around 15 minutes until the vehicles were moved from the road. No injuries were reported.
  • Mona Vale. Just after 3.30pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision at Pittwater Road, Mona Vale, near Jenkins Street. Northbound traffic was briefly affected while the vehicles were moved from the roadway. NSW Ambulance paramedics were not called to attend.
  • Mona Vale. Shortly after 11.00am Friday, 17 December, a vehicle breakdown in the right turn lane at the intersection of Barrenjoey Road, Mona Vale and Park Street affected southbound traffic for around two hours.
  • Narraweena. Just after 7.45am Friday, 17 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Waratah Parade, Narraweena.
  • Newport. Just before 12.45am Sunday, 12 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Barrenjoey Road, Newport.
  • North Balgowlah. Shortly before 5.30pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report a girl had been injured falling from her bicycle at North Balgowlah. She was treated for an injury to her arm and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • North Narrabeen. 6.00pm Wednesday, 15 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of a person injured at Nareen Parade, North Narrabeen. They found a man in his 60s who had injured his toe. He was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Palm Beach. Just after 3.15pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of a fall from a ladder at Barrenjoey Road, Palm Beach. The CareFlight Rescue Helicopter was tasked to the incident but was called off when NSW Ambulance paramedics assessed the 72-year-old man’s injuries as not requiring specialist trauma treatment. They treated the man for a head laceration and took him to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Seaforth. Just after 7.30am Tuesday, 14 December, NSW Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident at Lister Avenue, Seaforth.
  • Seaforth. Just after 11.00am Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police received a report of a collision between a car and truck at Frenchs Forest Road, Seaforth. No injuries were reported but southbound traffic was affected for around an hour.
  • Seaforth. Just before 2.30pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police received a report of a multiple vehicle collision at the Wakehurst Parkway, Seaforth, near Burnt Street. Southbound traffic was affected for around half an hour.

Theft & Vandalism

  • Allambie Heights. 7.45am Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to investigate the theft of a vehicle that had been parked at Roosevelt Avenue, Allambie Heights.
  • Avalon Beach. Shortly before 9.00pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Police were called to an alarm that had been triggered at a retail premise at Old Barrenjoey Road, Avalon Beach.
  • Balgowlah. Shortly before 1.30pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a person shoplifting from a store at Condamine Street, Balgowlah.
  • Belrose. Just after 7.30pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an intruder at Seaview Parade, Belrose.
  • Belrose. Just after 3.30am Sunday, 12 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Trentbridge Road, Belrose.
  • Belrose. Just after 10.00am Tuesday, 14 December, NSW Police received a report of a person failing to pay for fuel at a service station at Forest Way, Belrose.

  • Fairlight. Shortly after 8.00am Monday, 13 December, NSW Police received a report of property stolen from a motor vehicle parked at Sydney Road, Fairlight.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just after 5.15am Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an intruder on premises at Frenchs Forest Road East, Frenchs Forest.
  • Manly. Shortly before 5.00am Monday, 13 December, NSW Police were called to a report of a break-in at Manly Wharf.
  • Mona Vale. Just before 5.30pm Sunday, 12 December, NSW Police were called to a report of vandalism at Park Street, Mona Vale.
  • Mona Vale. Just after 8.00am Friday, 17 December, NSW Police received a report of property stolen from a vehicle parked at Elimatta Road, Mona Vale.
  • Narrabeen. Shortly after 10.30am Tuesday, 14 December, NSW Police received a report of property stolen from a vehicle that was parked at Nioka Road, Narrabeen.
  • Narraweena. Just before midday Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to investigate an intruder at a property at Warringah Road, Narraweena.
  • Newport. Just after 7.30am Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police received a report of vandalism of property at Crescent Road, Newport.
  • Newport. Shortly before 10.00am Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a vehicle stolen from where it had been parked at Gladstone Street, Newport.
  • Queenscliff. Just before 8.15pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of property stolen from a vehicle parked at Crown Road, Queenscliff.
  • Scotland Island. 4.45pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police Marine Area Command were called to a report of a watercraft stolen from where it had been secured at Thompson Wharf, Scotland Island.
  • Seaforth. Just before 1.30pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a break-in at Clontarf Street, Seaforth.
  • Warriewood. 10.45am Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of theft from commercial premises at Jubilee Avenue, Warriewood.
  • Warriewood. Just after 12.15pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police received a report of theft from a property at Warriewood Road, Warriewood.

  • Avalon Beach. Just after 1.30pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a person assaulted at Barrenjoey Road, Avalon Beach.
  • Balgowlah. Shortly before 7.15pm Tuesday, 14 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a group of disorderly youths at Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation, Balgowlah.
  • Balgowlah. Just before 1.45pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at Condamine Street, Balgowlah.
  • Belrose. Just after 7.30pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police received a report of a person behaving in a disorderly manner and causing a disturbance at Forest Way, Belrose.
  • Belrose. Shortly after 9.30am Monday, 13 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at Forest Way, Belrose.
  • Brookvale. Shortly after 10.30pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at Pittwater Road, Brookvale.

  • Brookvale. Shortly before 11.30pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to a report of a group of people fighting in public at Pittwater Road, Brookvale.
  • Brookvale. Just before 11.45pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a person who had been assaulted at Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale.
  • Dee Why. Just before 5.45pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to a retail premise at Pittwater Road, Dee Why where an intoxicated person was causing a disturbance.
  • Dee Why. Shortly after 7.30pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at Howard Avenue, Dee Why.

  • Frenchs Forest. Just after 6.45pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of disorderly youths creating a disturbance at a reserve near Epping Drive, Frenchs Forest.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just before 7.15pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police received a report of a person causing a disturbance at Garner Avenue, Frenchs Forest.
  • Frenchs Forest. Just after 2.00pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a group of disorderly youths gathered at Frenchs Forest Road, Frenchs Forest.
  • Manly. Just after 2.45am Saturday, 11 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to assist a man in his 20s who had been assaulted at The Corso, Manly. The man had apparently been struck from behind after a night out and had fallen and hit his head. He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Manly. Shortly before 5.30pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to a report of an intoxicated person who had been refused service at a licensed premise and was refusing to leave at The Corso, Manly.
  • Manly. Just after 9.00pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Police were called to assist a person believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at The Corso, Manly.
  • Manly. Just after 10.00pm Tuesday, 14 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of an assault at The Corso, Manly.
  • Manly. Shortly after 11.00am Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a person assaulted at Tower Street, Manly.
  • Manly. Shortly before midday Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to a report of an assault at North Steyne, Manly.
  • Manly. Just after 9.45pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to assist a person who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at Whistler Street, Manly.
  • Manly. Just after 10.00pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of a group of people fighting at Short Street, Manly.
  • Newport. Shortly before 7.00pm Thursday, 16 December, NSW Police were called to a report of an assault near licensed premises at Kalinya Street, Newport.
  • Newport. Just before 10.30pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police were called to a report of a person who appeared to be intoxicated causing a disturbance at Irrubel Road, Newport.
  • North Curl Curl. Shortly before 9.30pm Saturday, 11 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of disorderly youths at a reserve at Abbott Road, North Curl Curl.
  • North Narrabeen. 3.40am Friday, 17 December, NSW Police responded to a home invasion at Rickard Road, North Narrabeen. Police were told an unknown man entered the home demanding money from the occupants, two men aged 54 and 59. The intruder took cash and car keys before stealing a silver Mazda BT-50 and fleeing the scene, crashing into a white Nissan hatchback. Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene. As investigations continue, anyone with information or dashcam vision from the area at the time, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
  • Pittwater. Monday evening, 13 December, NSW Police Marine Area Command received multiple calls for noise complaints involving a vessel moored at Coasters Retreat, Pittwater.
  • Warriewood. Shortly before 11.30pm Monday, 13 December, NSW Police were called to investigate a report of disorderly youths in parkland at Warriewood.
  • Warriewood. 1.15pm Friday, 17 December, NSW Police responded to a report of a sexual assault at Jacksons Road, Warriewood.

Fire & Hazard

  • Allambie Heights. Just before 5.30pm Monday, 13 December, Fire and Rescue NSW Forestville Station responded to a report of a tree down on the road at Allambie Road, Allambie Heights. They cleared the tree from the roadway using chainsaws.
  • Beacon Hill. Just after 2.15pm Tuesday, 14 December, emergency services were called to a report of a house on fire at Earl Street, Beacon Hill. Firefighters from Forestville, Dee Why, Manly and Narrabeen Fire Stations responded to the scene. The fire was contained quickly although the upper level of the home suffered extensive damage.   • Collaroy. Just before 5.00pm Monday, 13 December, Fire and Rescue NSW Dee Why Station were called to a report of a bin alight at Pittwater Road, Collaroy. They found a bin smouldering which they quickly extinguished using a first aid hose reel from the fire truck.
  • Great Mackerel Beach. Just after 8.30pm Wednesday, 15 December, NSW Rural Fire Service responded to a report of fire near Monash Avenue, Great Mackerel Beach. A fire front of approximately 50m in length was located spreading into nearby Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Brigades from Great Mackerel Beach, West Pittwater, Ingleside, Coal and Candle and Warringah Headquarters responded. The fire was in difficult terrain, forcing firefighters to attack it from 20-30m above on a ridgeline as well as moving through bush in the dark from below. Firefighters accessed the area via fire trails through the national park as well as from the beach. An additional water tanker was brought in to supply firefighters who managed to contain the slow moving flames, which had a flame height of under 1m by around 10.15pm, and had the fire fully extinguished by 10.45pm. The source of the fire was considered suspicious.
  • Ingleside. Just before 10.30am Monday, 13 December, NSW Rural Fire Service Terrey Hills and Ingleside brigades responded to a fire call at the Kimbriki Recycling and Resource Centre at Kimbriki Road, Ingleside. When they arrived, Kimbriki staff had already extinguished a smouldering lithium battery which had been improperly disposed of. Firefighters used thermal imaging equipment to ensure there were no further hotspots before returning to station. Kimbriki CEO Peter Davis said they regularly deal with incidents involving batteries that have been improperly disposed of.

Beach & Waterways

  • Collaroy. Just after 2.30pm Wednesday, 15 December, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Collaroy Beach to treat a boy with a broken finger. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Dee Why. Just before 8.45am Sunday, 12 December, NSW Police received a report of belongings left unattended at the top of a headland near Pacific Parade, Dee Why. Police requested the assistance of Surf Life Saving NSW Dee Why Patrol to conduct a search of the area but nobody was found injured or in distress and the search was called off when the owner of the belongings was located.
  • Manly. Just before 2.00pm Tuesday, 14 December, NSW Police Marine Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a report of a man who had been injured in a fall on a boat near Little Manly Beach. Water police conveyed the injured man in his 40s by boat to Ferguson’s Marina at The Spit, Mosman, where he was treated for an injury to his leg and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
  • Manly. Shortly after 3.00pm Friday, 17 December, emergency services responded to a report of a 14-year-old boy falling 3-4m onto rocks near Commonwealth Parade, Manly. Firefighters from Manly Station provided first aid until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics. The NSW Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter was tasked and landed nearby at Manly Oval, with NSW Police conveying the specialist trauma team to the scene to assess the boy who had suffered a head injury in the fall. A vertical rescue team from Fire and Rescue NSW Narrabeen Station assisted with the safe removal of the boy from the rocks. He was taken by NSW Ambulance to Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick in a serious condition.

  • Mona Vale. Shortly after 9.30am Saturday, 11 December, Surf Life Saving NSW Mona Vale reported an incident involving a 48-year-old woman who had been hit on the head by a surfboard. She was treated by a surf patrol member who is a qualified paramedic.
  • Newport. Shortly after 10.00am Sunday, 12 December, emergency services including Surf Life Saving NSW, NSW Police, three NSW Ambulance crews and the CareFlight Rescue Helicopter were called to Newport Beach following a report of a surfer being pulled unconscious from the water. A man in his 20s was pulled from the water by surf lifesavers from Newport Patrol who resuscitated the man using CPR. Full story.
  • Palm Beach. Just after 3.45pm Thursday, 16 December, Surf Life Saving NSW Palm Beach Lifeguard was alerted to swimmers at the north end of the beach who were swimming near a rip. The lifeguard checked on the safety of the swimmers and directed them away from the danger.
  • Whale Beach. Just after 2.15pm Thursday, 16 December, Surf Life Saving NSW Whale Beach lifeguards and NSW Ambulance paramedics responded to a woman in her 20s suffering an anaphylactic reaction at Whale Beach. She was treated and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
