According to the Federal Environment Agency, almost 250 million additional cars hit the roads between 2015 and 2021. Auto suppliers are under pressure. Transformation, high energy and material prices, pandemic – the list of problems goes on. Nevertheless, according to Beryll’s advice, the year 2021 went better than 2020 for the 100 largest of their guild. The growth leaps of the Chinese suppliers characterize the picture. Japanese and German heavyweights such as Bosch, Denso and Continental still dominate the ranking. But the consultants urge vigilance: “If the Chinese continue to write their success story, they will take the leading role in the global supplier ranking in 2028 and push the German competition out of the top group.” Is Bosch boss Stefan Hartung (56) really afraid?
