The city of Valladolid will deploy an intelligent mobility solution based on Kapsch’s EcoTrafiX™ software

VIENNA/MADRID, 27-May-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — Kapsch Group‘s Kapsch TrafficCom will implement an intelligent mobility solution in the city of Valladolid in Spain. It will help the city get one step closer to becoming a smart city. The new system will enable different transportation agencies to integrate easily their data and provide Valladolid’s citizens with a single information point on schedules or incidents across various means of transport.

As part of the deployment, the project will offer an integrated traffic control system, which includes parking management and public transport. Reliable information about the transport in the city will be made available to the citizens coming from a single source on the municipal website. In addition, message panels have been installed across the town to help travelers find valuable information.

The new system will be based on Kapsch’s EcoTrafiX™ software, which will allow users to plan their journeys more rationally and efficiently. Kapsch’s system will analyse data from the different public transport means in Valladolid in order to propose effective routes and organize traffic in real time. Furthermore, Kapsch’s system will optimize the mobility conditions of collective transport, will as well reduce traffic congestion in the city center, and thus will guarantee that people have access to mobility in the best conditions possible.

From Valladolid City Council’s perspective, the Kapsch’s system will work as a “system of systems”, which will also include event and incident management, asset management, data analysis, report generation, as well as the availability of data on the municipal website.

The current deployment is part of Valladolid City Council’s strategy originally launched back in 2015. Kapsch’s intelligent mobility solutions are deployed in many cities across Spain including Madrid, Malaga, Bilbao, Vitoria, Castellón, Donostia, La Coruña, Palencia and Huelva.
