Ferrari reveals its most powerful road car ever
Ferrari unveiled two new car models on September 18 2018. They are titled the Monza SP1 and Monza SP2.
Ferrari has debuted two brand new road cars, claiming they are fitted with the most powerful engine ever built by the Italian car maker.
The luxury sports car maker took the wraps off the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 at the firm's famous Maranello factory in Italy on Tuesday.
Ferrari said in a press release that the latest models are first in a limited series called “Icona”. The name has been chosen to reference the firms famous racing cars of the 1950's. The SP1 has only one seat while the SP2 allows for one passenger.

The firm said the V12 810 brake horse power engine housed in both models is the most powerful motor drive ever built at Maranello. Other official statistics published by the firm said either car can reach 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds. Ferrari said the limited edition would run to a maximum of 500 cars.
The Monza's bodyshell is built entirely from carbon fibre and neither model comes with a roof or windscreen. Ferrari said a “virtual wind shield” is placed behind the instrumentation panel to push air flow above the driver who is sat in a Formula 1 style cockpit.
What's ahead for Ferrari under Louis Camilleri
11:36 AM ET Mon, 23 July 2018 | 01:52
The cars were unveiled at the end of the firm's first capital markets day since the passing of former CEO Sergio Marchionne.
Shares in the supercar maker see-sawed after the company announced a new earnings target range for 2022 of between 1.8 and 2 billion euros ($2.1 -2.3bn).
That represents a pull back from the 2 billion euro target put in place by Marchionne but new boss Louis Camilleri described it as “ambitious but doable”.

Mercedes-AMG Project ONE: Prototype Testing
20.
September 2018
Affalterbach
The development of the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE show car, presented at IAA 2017, had been intensively worked on behind closed doors for several months. In a highly complex, digital development process (“Project ONE Virtual Engineering”), the transnational project team worked towards its common goal: putting Formula 1 hybrid technology on the road.
Hundreds of testing hours have already been spent to master the immense challenge of making the high-performance drive unit ready for series production: the whole powertrain including all hybrid components underwent the toughest race track tests on the high-performance dyno tests of HPP's engine specialists in Brixworth.
The successful completion of the dyno tests was followed by the installation of the highly complex powertrain into the first prototypes, which since then have been driving around unnoticed on a secret test ground in England. But today it turns out to be more difficult to keep this testing confidential: the camouflaged prototypes of the Mercedes-AMG hypercar are still being driven on closed off test grounds and racetracks. However, because of their characteristic F1 sound they are hard to keep from the public.

Aston Martin Rapide E details revealed beyond battery tech
Teaser for Aston Martin Rapide E due in 2019
Led by former Nissan Leaf product planner Andy Palmer, Aston Martin plans to launch a new lineup of electric cars under its Lagonda brand.
As a trial balloon, it will launch an electric version of its four-door sports sedan under the Aston Martin brand, the Rapide E.
Now the company has released more details about the car beyond its 800-volt battery pack.
DON'T MISS: Aston Martin may be first with 800-volt charging
The company announced yesterday that the Rapide E will use a 65-kwh battery pack to deliver a range of about 200 miles.
The battery pack will use more than 5,600 cylindrical 18650 cells arranged in a proprietary pack sitting where the gas-powered Rapide's V-12 engine, transmission, and gas tank usually sit.
Two electric motors driving the rear axle will provide 601 horsepower and more than 700 pound-feet of torque.

Aston Martin estimates 0-60 mph acceleration in less than 4 seconds and a 50-70 mph passing acceleration sprint in 1.5 seconds.
The car was engineered to maintain full power through a hot lap of the 12.8-mile Nurburgring test track in Germany, Aston Martin says it can maintain this level of performance on the street in more than short bursts.
Aston Martin is targeting similar handling performance as the gas version of the Rapide with revised spring and shock rates.
CHECK OUT: Aston Martin Lagonda Vision Concept shows electric car future for luxury sedan
As it announced specs for the Rapide E, Aston Martin announced that it will dedicate a new factory in St. Athan, Wales, as its hub for electric-car development and production.
“As our first all-electric production model, Rapide E will fast-track our knowledge and help us ensure the character and high-performance capabilities of our future EV models and enhance the unique qualities found in all Aston Martins as we know them today,” said Aston CEO Palmer. “Rapide E will also serve as a critical step on our path to relaunching Lagonda as the world’s first zero-emission luxury marque.”
The company plans to build just 155 examples of the Rapide E before launching into full electric production with an electric SUV from Lagonda scheduled to arrive in 2021.
