Automobili Lamborghini inaugurates new trigeneration and district heating systems, two of the main projects that lead to the Sant'Agata Bolognese company's attainment of CO2-neutral certification for the entire plant.
The certification under the “Carbon Neutrality” program is the first in the world awarded to a company by DNV GL (Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd), one of the leading environmental risk management classification, verification and service companies in the world. Automobili Lamborghini achieves this significant goal within 2015 by reducing and compensating for CO2 emissions inside the production site.
The inauguration event celebrates the attainment of a primary goal within Lamborghini's environmental sustainability strategy, which was initiated several years ago with the completion of a large number of projects regarding the plant and Lamborghini cars.
“Sustainability is one of our company objectives and we subscribe to a strong undertaking of environmental responsibility towards our stakeholders and the area where the company operates,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO. “The new plant and the certification we have earned today are part of our sustainable growth program. Our goal is to keep the plant CO2-neutral, even after the expansion that will take place in the upcoming years with the introduction of the third Lamborghini model.”
The inauguration was held in the presence of the Minister of the Environment, Land and Sea, Gian Luca Galletti, and several government authorities.
“Automobili Lamborghini is the perfect example of how business can be done while respecting the environment, and I would like to see this model exported to other regions of this country. Here, profitability and sustainability are going hand in hand. Manufacturing in Italy is a synonym for quality and this is essential for our region: we need to think of the environment as a big opportunity for the development of businesses. I believe the companies that do understand this new industrial culture will be the winners of the 21st century,” comments Gian Luca Galletti.

In the fiscal year 2014 Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. again improved its key financial figures and reached new records in terms of sales and turnover in its history of more than 50 years. Worldwide deliveries to customers increased from 2.121 to 2.530 units: a growth of 19 percent. Turnover showed an even stronger growth of 24 percent from 508 million euros to 629 million euros. The over-proportional growth in turnover is due to a continuing high demand for the Lamborghini Aventador and the very successful market introduction of the new Huracán.
“For the fourth year in row Automobili Lamborghini delivered a very satisfying performance. The record values underline the attractiveness of our model portfolio as well as the strength of our global brand, product and commercials trategy,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of AutomobiliLamborghini S.p.A.
Production at the Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters is already used to capacity for the current year 2015.
In order to assure its commitment to innovation and in preparation for future growth, the long-established Italian super sports car company maintains its investment in research and development and in factory premises. Despite an above average rate of investment of over 20% compared to the industry the company also made a profit in the year 2014.
Winkelmann underlined: “Today the company is driving towards the future from a very solid economic base. With our very attractive model mix, on-going anticipated investment and stable markets, we anticipate a phase of solid growth in the medium term.”

Announcing TVR Genuine Parts

Whether you’re carrying out a full restoration or merely looking to replace a single, particular part for your cherished TVR, you’ll want the comfort of fitting genuine parts. But how can you be sure that’s what you’re getting?

Whether you’re carrying out a full restoration or merely looking to replace a single, particular part for your cherished TVR, you’ll want the comfort of fitting genuine parts. But how can you be sure that’s what you’re getting?

This was the recurring question put to us by concerned owners and workshops alike and, as the years went by after the Blackpool factory closed, the situation was becoming more confused and the future less certain. Now, with this new initiative, we hope to bring some confidence back to the market.

Firstly, we have examined the old stock of original parts. This comprises a mix of what was left in the stores after the Blackpool factory closed, together with stock from OEMs that historically supplied products for the old cars.

Then, discovering some parts no longer existed, we decided to open the TVR design archives and authorise the use of our extensive library of technical drawings (including nearly 100,000 CAD drawings). By doing so we hope to facilitate the remanufacture of replacement parts guaranteed to match, or exceed, the performance defined by the original specifications.

Together, this new and old stock is in the process of being packaged and labelled as ‘TVR GENUINE PARTS’.

And, to keep things as simple as possible, we have decided to licence a single source to supply and distribute all of them to anyone who needs them, anywhere in the world. This newly created single source is called ‘TVR Parts’, and you can read more about this initiative here.
