German FAZ: Daimler Truck and the unexpected Boom006478

The German economy slipped into recession at the beginning of the year. In addition, the economic outlook continues to deteriorate – also in the rest of the world. In such an environment, it cannot usually be assumed that companies from the commercial vehicle industry will be more optimistic about their business. But that is exactly what happened in the case of Daimler Truck.

Around its Capital Market Day 2023, the world market leader in commercial vehicles had raised its forecast for the current financial year. When it comes to sales, 530,000 to 550,000 units are now being promised, after previously only expecting a value of between 510,000 and 530,000 vehicles. With regard to the sales forecast, the Swabian management was also more optimistic. The revenue prospects increase from 55 to 57 billion euros to 56 to 58 billion euros.
