Rental car prices fell during the summer holidaysThe international average car rental prices for the coming summer holiday season fell slightly below the previous year’s level. This is the result of a price analysis by the online platformbilliger-mietwagen.de, which compared prices in 20 countries and 40 cities for the holiday period from July 15th to August 31st. Accordingly, a rental car costs an average of 54.09 euros per day. A year earlier it was 55.07 euros. The biggest decline is in Austria. Here the daily rental price fell from 76.11 euros to 55.73 euros – a decrease of 27 percent. There are also significant declines in Ireland (-22 percent, 58.11 euros) and in Denmark (-19 percent, 37.16 euros). However, the analysis shows price increases for South Africa (+ 19 percent, 46.23 euros) and Norway (+ 16 percent, 97.06 euros). In Germany, the price development is in the middle range with a decrease of 9 percent to 45.60 euros. The cheapest of all the countries examined is Poland with an average price of 28.40 euros.
